How do I add Firefox Companion for Kodak EasyShare Gallery to my Firefox web browser?
It’s easy! First, make sure you have Firefox installed on your computer – you must have version 1.5 or higher. If not, you can download it here.
To get the Companion, go to the Firefox add-ons page and click on the install button for Firefox Companion for Kodak EasyShare Gallery. Next, restart Firefox and then either click on the “K” icon on your toolbar, or go to “Tools” in your Firefox browser menu and select “Kodak Companion”. It will open in a sidebar in your Firefox browser.
What kind of computer and operating system does it work with?
Firefox Companion for Kodak EasyShare Gallery is compatible with all operating systems and works whether you have a Mac or PC. You just need the Firefox Web browser installed to enjoy it. You may need to check with your IT department if you’re attempting to install the Companion on a work computer.
How do I upload photos using Firefox Companion for Kodak EasyShare Gallery?
Uploading is simple. First, login to your existing account, or create a new account using the buttons at the top right of the Companion. Then simply drag an image into the sidebar from your picture folder or a web page, or navigate to a specific folder located on your computer by clicking on the “Click or Drag Image Here” button in the Companion sidebar.
What types of photo files can be uploaded?
With Kodak EasyShare Gallery the file may only be a .jpg.
How do I add or remove photos?
To add photos, simply click on the “+Add” button at the top of the Companion or click on the large “Click or Drag Image Here” picture icon. To remove pictures, click on the “-“ sign in the lower right corner of any picture that appears in the sidebar. To remove all photos, click “Select All” at the top of the Fotofox menu bar and then click the “Remove” button at the top of the Fotofox menu bar.
How do I open Firefox Companion for Kodak EasyShare Gallery?
Click on the Kodak “K” icon in the Firefox toolbar and it will appear in your Firefox Web browser. Alternatively, you can go to the “Tools” menu in Firefox and select “Kodak Companion”.
How do I add titles or tags to a photo or multiple photos?
Select a photo (it will be highlighted in a blue glow when “selected”) and type a tag of your choice in the “Tags:” field at the bottom of the Companion. To add tags to all of the photos, click “Select All” and then add the tags you wish to apply to all photos. To make a selection of photos have a particular set of tags, press and hold the “control” key (using a PC) and click on multiple photos or press and hold the open-apple key (using a Mac).
How do I add photos to a different album?
Pick the album of your choice in the “Album” drop down menu at the bottom of the sidebar.
Which photo services are used with Firefox Companion for Kodak EasyShare Gallery?
Currently Kodak EasyShare Gallery, Flickr, Tabblo, Marela, 23, and Smugmug. More services may be added in the future.
Why am I being asked to login or create a new account with the service I selected?
You may not have an account with the photo service you selected. You must create an account before uploading pictures from the Companion to that service.
How do I change the photo service I want to use?
Select the photo service of your choice in the drop down menu at the top of the Companion. Then click “Continue”.
Can I change the width of the Companion sidebar?
Yes. Simply place your cursor over the right-hand divider, and slide it to your desired width.
Is this product open source?
We plan on open sourcing the underlying framework and code we developed to build this add-on under the MPL/GPL/LGPL. We still have some work to do in terms of licensing and code review before we do so, and we'll get to that now that we've shipped version 1.0. To be clear, some of the graphics, trademarks and API keys used to build the official Firefox Companion for Kodak EasyShare Gallery have been licensed from third-parties and will not be released as open source.
How many photos can I upload to Kodak EasyShare Gallery at one time using the Companion?
The current limit is 300 MB.
Why does this look a lot like the Fotofox add-on?
Mozilla released Fotofox earlier this year, co-developed with our community, and we worked with Kodak to develop a custom-branded version for the Firefox Companion for Kodak Gallery.
